The Seneca Sting improved to 3-0 on the season with a 95-66 win over the Algonquin Thunder (1-3).
Playing in just his third game with the Sting and first at home, Trevor Hutton quickly made himself comfortable on the court. Hutton made four three-pointers in the first quarter and added another in the second quarter to push the Sting to a lead they would not relinquish.
Aided by Hutton's 14 points in the first quater, the Sting jumped out to a 27-19 lead.
The Sting expanded their lead to 48-30 at halftime as eight Sting contributed in the opening half. The Thunder were paced by Michael Soy who scored 9 points in the first half.
Following a balanced third quarter which saw the Sting outscore the Thunder by a single point, the Sting exploded in the fourth quarter, led by a trio of three-pointers by Khalil Miller.
Miller led the Sting with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Hutton and Jordan Anderson each finished with 17 points. Yusuf Ali had a game-high 9 assists and Yanick Hannibal had 7 rebounds.
Kevin Metelus topped the Thunder with 16 points while Soy (13 points) and Ernest Tolete (11 points) each reached double figures.
