Da Silva Scores 2 in Sting Win

The Seneca Sting (5-0) defeated the Cambrian Golden Shield (1-5-0) 7-0, scoring six first half goals in the win.

Alessia Da Silva opened the scoring in the 6th minute, netting her first of two goals in the afternoon match. Just two minutes later, Aaliyah Simons scored her first career goal for the Sting when she found the back of the net in the 8th minute.

Da Silva scored her second of the match in the 10th minute and now has four goals on the season in just five matches.

Leading goal scorer Sona Makulova scored her seventh of the season in the 20th minute before Faith Metcalfe-Simiana scored her first goal as a Sting in the 23rd minute.

Jordan Burke scored her second goal in as many matches when she beat the Golden Shield's goalkeeper in the 41st minute before Carley Uddenberg's third goal of the season in the 76th minute complete the scoring.

The Sting held a 20-1 advantage in shots on goal and had 12 corner kicks to just 1 for the Golden Shield. Raven Edwards-Dowdall picked up the shutout for the Sting.
