The Seneca Sting (2-0) opened the 2019 home schedule with a dominant performance, defeating the Sheridan Bruins (0-2) 31-10.
Six days after having their season opener put on hold due to a forfeit against the Mohawk Mountaineers, the Sting came out hungry from the opening kick. Simeon Charles opened the scoring just minutes into the game, scoring a try while dragging two tacklers across the scoring line.
The Bruins responded twelve minutes in to tie the match, but the Sting regained the lead on a try by Liam McGuckian midway through the first half.
The Sting dominated the second half as Tanaka Mafuse, Danilo Nikolic and Erik Keppen all scored tries while David Kavtiashvili converted three converts. The Bruins scored one try in the second half, unable to match the Sting's tenacity and energy.
