the Sting started their season in impressive fashion with an 8-0 win over the Loyalist Lancers.
Second-year striker Ruth Holland led the way with a hat trick, putting her in a tie with Durham’s Katy Long for the OCAA scoring lead. Also scoring for the Sting were Samantha Macchione with a pair of goals, third-year defender Kristina Mantenuto, first-year player Carleigh Andonovski and first-year defender Olivia Ferreira.

A goal by Christina Mantenuto in the 85th minute helped the Lady Sting improve their season record to 2 wins and 0 losses. Brittany Norman worked hard to win the ball deep in the Cambrian end, who in turn passed to Natalie Colangelo, who crossed the ball in to a wide open Mantenuto. The Lady Sting controlled the tempo of the game, out possessing and out chancing Cambrian, however had to deal with a very stingy defense.

Sting Sweep Vikings on home pitch
The Seneca Sting Women’s Soccer Team (5-1) dominated from start to finish in a 5-0 shutout of the St. Lawrence College Vikings. Leandra Covello notched a pair of goals for Seneca while Brittney Norman, Ruth Holland and Tiffany Beaumont had the other markers.
